The Talk Together resource includes a DVD showing tried and tested small-group language work delivered by teaching assistants. In addition a CD Rom contains printable resources, teaching plans, shopping list and recording sheets.
The pack is designed for small groups of Key Stage 1 or 2 children following a focussed 15 week course of ideally two sessions a week. The carefully planned sessions are based around different texts with linked games and activities.There is a balance between following instructions and news telling. This tried and tested resource was developed from the Australian First Steps scheme and has been used by over 60 schools in Lancashire.
The pack is appropriate for children who have a range of communication/language difficulties and is particularly relevant for children who struggle with following instructions, listening to others or are reluctant to speak in class.
